SHARPSBURG — The 2008 boys and girls basketball tournament championship trophies of the Coweta County Middle School Athletic League will reside in the same place as Smokey Road defeated Lee on the latter's home court.
In the boys game, the outcome was not determined until the end as the Wildcats defeated the Timberwolves 35-32 while the Lady Wildcats took an early lead and made it stand as they defeated the Lady Timberwolves 28-11 to claim the title.
The game was a rematch of the 2007 final that saw Lee (8-5) defeat Smokey Road (12-0) for the title.
