The official Georgia flag that will be displayed on board the USS Georgia — the only active duty Navy ship that's homeported in its namesake state — came to Coweta County as part of the flag's 159-county tour.
U.S. Navy representatives, county officials and local veterans were on hand to honor the nuclear submarine's return to service, welcome the flag to Coweta, and sign the logbook that will become part of the submarine's records.
