This winter view of the former First United Methodist Church parsonage on Greenville Street in Newnan is shared from the Coweta Remembered files. As crews were working in May 2000 tearing down the former two-story brick parish house building at Greenville and Salbide, Bob Langley of Newnan remembered this snapshot he took of the old church parsonage that stood between the building and the church. This winter snow scene from January 1962 was not too long before the home was torn down. It stood where a current church parking lot is located. The old parish house building, formerly a Masonic hall and later used by church-sponsored Boy Scouts and as the Coweta Council on Aging senior citizens center, was demolished to make way for a First Methodist classroom and fellowship hall expansion.
