Chattahoochee Valley Poultry Association Show - 2/16/2007 : The fourth annual Chattahoochee Valley Poultry Association show at the Coweta County Fairgrounds. The weekend event included approximately 1,500 poultry exhibits, including bantam chickens, large fowl chickens, bantam ducks, large ducks, geese and turkeys.

Live Nativity - 12/20/2007 : Coweta Organization for Riding Rehabilitation and Learning (CORRAL) live nativity presentation in the Roscoe community. The nativity scene was narrated by scripture and interludes of familiar holiday music, tracing the traditional Bible story of the birth of Christ. Live animals and authentic costumes for Joseph, Mary, shepherds and wise men brought the story to life for the many children and adults gathered in the historic Sewell barn at the CORRAL farm. At the end of the presentation, the audience was invited to pet the animals and speak to the actors. Many children enjoyed touching the horses and sheep and getting their pictures taken with the characters from the nativity. CORRAL, a non-profit organization, provides therapeutic horseback riding for developmentally challenged and handicapped students.

ECHS Indian Princess Pageant - 9/21/2007 : East Coweta High School junior Courtney Duncan was crowned the 2007 Indian Princess at the school's annual pageant, Sept. 21, at the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts. Fifty contestants competed in "casual wear" and "formal wear." During the formal wear competition, each contestant was escorted to the center of the stage, from where she approached the microphone, introduced herself and finished the sentence, "In 10 years, I see myself..." The judges chose 11 semifinalists. Each was asked an interview question. Pageant contestants received awards for "best smile," "best dress," "most beautiful" and other awards before two runners-up and the Indian Princess were revealed. Proceeds from the pageant will support East Coweta's student classes, clubs and homecoming activities.

ECHS/Area Bands Exhibition- 9/18/2007 : Coweta County's three public high school bands from Northgate, Newnan and East Coweta High Schools entertained the crowd on a cool, clear night Sept. 18, 2007 at the East Coweta Marching Indians and Band Boosters' Marching Band Exhibition. The 11th annual event was held at Garland Shoemake Stadium at East Coweta High. All Coweta County high school bands were invited to perform, and eighth graders from all middle schools were invited to play "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Special Olymics, April 25, 2007 : "Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt." With those words, read aloud by Georgia Bulldog lady basketball player Megan Darrah and Garrett Ledwick of East Coweta Middle School, the 2007 Coweta County Special Olympic Spring Games began. Competitors from each of the county's schools, as well as students from surrounding counties, turned Newnan High School's Drake Stadium into a sea of yellow — the color of the event's T-shirt.

Heart & Soul Bus Tour- Newnan : Close to 45 of Georgia's business leaders, state legislators and philanthropists arrived in Newnan shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 to see the sights and take notes along the way. They participated in the seventh annual "Heart & Soul" bus tour of Georgia downtowns. Newnan was selected as one of 11 downtowns around the state that are undertaking revitalization projects and creating a place for people to live, work and play.
